How it works . . .
Our aim is to make arranging your home DNA relationship test as straightforward as possible
1. Order your kit
Order online and we'll send you a home DNA test sampling kit, with a mouth swab, sample collection card and consent form for all the people who are going to be tested.
DNA test kits are sent by first class post - all kit orders received before 3.00pm on a working weekday will be despatched the same day.
2. Take your DNA samples
Watch our short video to see how easy it is to take your own sample using the mouth swabs provided in the DNA test kit.
Return the samples and completed paperwork to us using the prepaid envelope in the kit and once we receive all the samples we'll begin testing.
3. Laboratory DNA testing
You can be sure that your DNA test will be carried out with care, accuracy and precision. We ensure high quality and reliable paternity and relationship analysis by using an advanced 24 marker system and we carry out every DNA test twice to provide certainty.
4. Your DNA results
Our reporting scientists have a wealth of experience built up over many years of relationship testing. If all of your DNA samples arrive at our UK laboratory before 10am they will aim to send you your test result report by email by the end of the next working day.

DNA testing is a highly sensitive matter so please be assured that we will manage your case confidentially. Our information security protocols are certified to ISO 27001 standards and Cyber Essentials Plus.
Conclusive
When a mother, child and possible father are tested Cellmark's results will either conclusively show he is not the biological father or provide proof of paternity with a confidence level usually greater than 99.9999%.

The DNA testing kit contains everything you need to take your DNA samples and return them to us for testing.

- Clear instructions about how to take the DNA samples
- A mouth swab for each person to be tested
- A sample collection card for each person to be tested
- A sample declaration form for each person, requiring a signature to provide consent
- A tamperproof return envelope
All our Home DNA kits are mailed out inside a non-branded envelope, there is no mention of Cellmark or DNA at Home on the envelope and it will be labelled ‘Private and Confidential’.

One in a billion
Now you can obtain a copy of your DNA profile as the scientist in the laboratory would see it. Each profile image is of course different as it represents your DNA. It provides a fascinating and unique representation of each individual which makes an attractive and exclusive scientific record.
Court approved DNA test
For over 35 years Cellmark has been known for high quality court approved DNA testing and excellent customer service. This same high quality service is now available from Cellmark with the added convenience of taking your own samples at home with our simple to use home DNA test kit.
While a home DNA test can provide peace of mind, if you need to use your DNA testing results as part of a legal process, for example as part of a child custody case or a maintenance settlement, then you will need to arrange a ‘Court Approved DNA test’. This will mean having DNA samples taken and your identity verified by an independent sampler.
As a member of the Ministry of Justice's list of accredited bodies, Cellmark is accredited to carry out parentage tests directed by the civil courts in England and Wales under section 20 of the Family Law Reform Act 1969.
